Beginner Freediver Course | Aliwal Shoal
In this course, you will get all the basics of freediving and will become an autonomous freediver able to explore the underwater world comfortably. You will learn how to practice freediving safely, what happens with your body when you hold your breath, how to dive more efficiently, and how to handle freediving mentally, but also any other life situation. By the end of the course, you should be able to dive safely and comfortably between 12 and 20 meters. You will also learn distance disciplines in the pool, with and without fins, focusing on technique and efficiency.

PREREQUISITES
• Swim 200m unassisted, non-stop in a pool
• 18+ years of age (16+ years with adult consent)
COURSE DETAILS
Day 1: Theory 1.5 hours & Pool skills 1.5+ hours
Day 2: Open water skills & Theory Review
Day 3: Open water skills & Online Exam
The schedule and order of these sessions varies subject to launch conditions for open water sessions.
Includes access to Molchanovs Base Training and education materials, pool entry, boat fees and internationally recognised freediving certification on completion of course requirements. Gear rental is not included & can be arranged on request.
NOTE: If all requirements are not completed during the course outlined above, students are allowed up to 12 months to demonstrate the missing skills to the same instructor or another Molchanovs instructor. Additional costs apply for coaching & launch fees.

• Learn all there is to know about equalization at a beginner level
• Safety is imperative, and a big part of the course is learning how to dive with a buddy, perform rescue procedures, and prevent potential injuries.
