Did you know that sea turtles must swim to the ocean surface to breathe every few minutes when they are active. BUT... When they are resting, they can remain underwater for as long as 2 hours or more without breathing. 🤯

Afternoons on Aliwal Shoal seem to be a turtle party! We lost count with all the turtle action on this last dive! 🤙🏼

The blue water was calling and I'm glad I answered! After WEEKS of average viz, this weekend was the equivalent of diving in an aquarium! 💙 Although a little bumpy of the surface... the top to bottom, clear water made it worth the effort! Sweet dreams are most certainly made of these...

When in doubt... go out! 🤙🏼 Watching the weather forecast for the last few days, the wind conditions were a 50/50 chance of being kak. There was a gap in the early morning with the West due to come through from 8am, so the decision was to head out and see what happens!

This is what we saw:
• Eagle Rays
• White tip shark
• Turtle
• Dolphins
• Potato bass
• Brindle bass

2022 will be remembered as the year of the Humpbac

2022 will be remembered as the year of the Humpback Whales 🐋 We can't believe there are still so many making their journey back home, passing the KZN coast line. It's been the longest season we've ever experienced 💙 No complaints here!

This mother and calf passed by us moving south. We cut engines and admired her from a distance... but then something insane happened.... she turned around to come check us out. A few divers slipped into the water hoping to get a glimpse. She cruised right passed and circled back around the boat before continuing her journey home. It's incredible to see how curious these gentle giants are.

Summer diving on Aliwal Shoal 💙 There were Rays for days... and the Raggies are still hanging around too! Epic morning with humpback whales showing off on the surface. Warm, clean water! Couldn't have asked for better! You gotta be in it, to win it... this day was definitely a WINNER!
