Pool Course

Start your freediving journey in the pool.

Discover the freedom of exploring underwater on a single breath, starting in a controlled and comfortable pool environment. The Molchanovs Lap 1 Pool Course is designed for anyone who wants to learn the foundations of freediving, develop confidence in the water, and build the skills needed to progress safely.

This course combines freediving theory with practical pool training, giving you a solid foundation in breath-hold, technique, relaxation, safety and rescue. You’ll learn what happens in your body when you hold your breath, how to prepare and recover correctly, and how to move efficiently through the water with and without fins.

By the end of the course, you’ll have the skills and knowledge to freedive safely in a pool, including performing static breath-holds and dynamic freediving. You’ll work towards swimming 30m underwater with fins.

The Lap 1 course is also a great starting point if you’re not quite ready for open-water depth training. Once you’re ready to take your freediving further, you can upgrade to the full Molchanovs Wave 1 course and add the depth component to your certification.
